I'm so excited about this amazing hotel at the the base of Norway’s Svartisen glacier, within the Arctic Circle. Svart is the world’s first energy positive hotel, which means that it produces more energy (via solar panels) than it uses. And let’s face it, if you’re going to build in this uniquely beautiful corner of the world, you’ve got to take care of the environment, right? The world-famous architects Snøhetta, who designed Svart, previously built Tverrfjellhytta, an observation pavilion at the Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre. It’s an extraordinary building that’s been on my to-do list for a while. They also designed the sexy, sleek opera house in Oslo.
